Sara Watkins Reimagines Childhood Music On Beautiful New Album

The album, Under The Pepper Tree, reimagines the songs Sara loved as a child — songs from Disney's Pinocchio, such as "When You Wish Upon a Star," or "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. There are also some surprises, such as The Beatles song "Good Night" and some cowboy tunes.
I found such comfort in these songs, songs I hadn't thought about or heard about in years. So, on this edition of All Songs Considered, I have a conversation with Sara Watkins about Under The Pepper Tree and the family of musicians she brought along to make the record, including members of Nickel Creek and I'm With Her.
