This month marks 50 years since the birth of hip-hop, so our friends at NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast reached out to some NPR colleagues as well as hip-hop luminaries Common, Tarriona "Tank" Ball, Quelle Chris and Big Freedia, to ask them what hip-hop verse changed their lives.
