2024 Preview: The year's most anticipated albums

There's only so far ahead we can look with any certainty when it comes to new album releases, but the year is already shaping up to be a big one for returns: Brittany Howard's new solo album arrives in February; Grandaddy is back after a seven-year break with Blu Wav, also out next month; and Mary Timony, known for her work in the bands Helium and Wild Flag (among others), will release an album under her own name, something she hasn't done in 17 years.
